ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY
Directed Transparent AccessTM (DTA), allows for controlled Internet access using our self-contained, proprietary custom browser The Ghost BrowserTM. The technology is delivered via CD-ROM, upon which is loaded The Ghost BrowserTM. Embedded onto the disk are designated websites that establish the limit of locations your users may visit, prohibiting them from browsing anywhere except those specific sites. Also embedded onto the disk is a segment of time that establishes the browsing time available to the end user. It may also be programmed to contain a limited amount of money or "stored value" for use at the designated websites. The CD-ROM contains a time decrement feature in which the Internet access is permitted for a specific, predetermined amount of time, from 10 minutes to 10,000 hours or anywhere in between.
HOW IT WORKS
The end user inserts the CD-ROM into the drive of their computer; the program auto starts and internally accesses the computers' modem. The modem dials a toll free "800" number which provides access to our data center from anywhere in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP), including Canada, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The user is then prompted to enter a code key, which is provided with the CD-ROM. The code key can represent simply a value of "time" online, in minutes, or a dollar amount of "stored value" for purposes of online shopping or gaming. Once the code key is entered and the data center verifies the validity of the user's key and the amount of time that is permitted with that particular key, the software launches one of our browsers onto the computer screen. The browser will be customized with a specific website's branding (or multiple sites), allowing the user direct access to the site. The browser is similar in functionality to Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Netscape's Navigator Browser, but our browser will be specifically embedded with links that "sandbox" the end user to only the IP addresses that are present on the disk. Because the browser is disk-based, no cookies are placed on the end user's computer and no history trail is evident from the computer's installed browser, thereby ensuring privacy, anonymity and a completely traceless session for the user.
When the time allotment on a given disk has been reached, the software notifies the user of this fact, disconnects from the Internet and closes the browser, thereby ending the online experience. Once the time allotment or the stored value of the disk is exhausted, the disk has no residual value and can be discarded. However, we are currently working on a new version of the product that will allow the end user to "recharge" the disk using the same Personal Identification Number (PIN) that is assigned to that specific disk. The dial up connection is toll-free so no charges or any evidence of the connection will appear on a telephone bill.
Some of the advantages for using our browser:
- Ensures Privacy, Anonymity and Security
- Is prepaid and can be used in multiple installments until access time is expired
- Provides a nationwide access via toll-free lines, eliminating the need for an ISP
- Doesn't allow cookies, history trails or cache files to be loaded onto the computer
- Eliminates the need for credit cards or age verification services
- User is contained to your site only
